Tilak Varma IPL Salary: Year-wise earnings from 2022 to 2026

Tilak Varma was earmarked to achieve big milestones on the cricket field from age-group cricket. The southpaw was a part of India's squad, which finished as the runners-up at the ICC Men's U19 World Cup 2020 in South Africa. Varma scored 86 in three innings at an average of 28.66 and a strike rate of 67.71.

Tilak plays domestic cricket for Hyderabad. He has already racked up more than 4000 runs in T20 cricket and has five hundreds and 24 fifties to his credit.

His promise in the shortest format of the game caught the eye of Mumbai Indians (MI), and they acquired his services by paying INR 1.70 crore at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 auction.

Tilak is one of the rare players who have only played for a solitary franchise in the Indian Premier League. He played 14 games in his maiden IPL season (2022) and racked up 397 runs at an average of 36.09 and a strike rate of 131.02, including two half-centuries and a highest score of 61.

His performance improved in the 2023 season. The southpaw aggregated 343 runs in 11 games at an average of 42.87 and a much better strike rate of 164.11, including a fifty and a best score of 84*.

IPL 2024 turned out to be Tilak's most productive season. He amassed 416 runs across 13 fixtures, averaging 41.60 at a strike rate north of 140. He also racked up three half-centuries.

The 18th edition of the IPL saw a slight blip in his performance. Tilak managed 343 runs in 13 innings at an average of 31.18 and a strike rate of 138.30, with the help of two fifties.

On April 20, 2026, Tilak notched up his maiden hundred in the IPL. He scored 101* off just 45 deliveries and helped Mumbai beat Gujarat Titans by a staggering 99-run margin.
