India are eyeing their second successive T20 World Cup title as they’re all set to take on New Zealand in the final of the tournament on Sunday, March 8 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Men in Blue have had a mixed campaign so far, where they were tested by all of their opponents.

However, they managed to overcome their challenges every time with someone from the team putting their hand up to bail them out of trouble on every occasion. As a result, India find themselves in the record fourth final of the tournament’s history and are on the cusp of etching their name in the record books.

Here’s a list of major milestones India or their players can achieve in the blockbuster final:

3 - Jasprit Bumrah needs three more wickets to become the pacer with the most wickets in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Currently, the top spot is taken by Sri Lankan legend, Lasith Malinga, who has scalped 38 wickets from 31 innings at an average of 20.07 and an economy of 7.43. On the other hand, Bumrah has 36 wickets to his name from 25 innings at an average of 14.75.

1 – Bumrah also needs just one more scalp to be the top wicket-taker for India in all ICC white-ball tournaments. Currently, he’s levelled with Mohammed Shami, with both fast bowlers having 78 scalps to their names.

1- India can become the first side to win back-to-back Men's T20 World Cups ever if they beat New Zealand in the final. Until now, no team had reached the final in the subsequent edition after winning the trophy.

57 - Ishan Kishan needs 57 more runs to break the record for most runs by an Indian in a single edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Currently, Virat Kohli holds the record with 319 runs to his name during the 2014 edition of the tournament. Meanwhile, Kishan has accumulated 263 runs from eight innings so far in the ongoing event, at an average of 32.87 and a strike rate of 189.2.
