Delhi Capitals (DC) suffered arguably the most heartbreaking loss of the ongoing IPL 2026 season on Saturday (April 25). Despite posting a mountain of 264 on the board, Capitals suffered a six-wicket loss to Punjab Kings on their home turf at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
What's worse?
There is an injury cloud hovering over Lungi Ngidi. The South African seamer hurt the back of his head and neck region while backpedalling for a catch to dismiss Priyansh Arya in the game. He was rushed to a hospital and was fortunately cleared of injuries. But his availability for the game against RCB on Monday is still unclear.
Delhi's fielding woes surfaced against Punjab Kings. They shelled plenty of opportunities, and that cost them the match eventually. The Axar Patel-led side can't afford to have a repeat of the same against RCB, as the defending champions would also be quick to pounce on it.
RCB looked clinical while chasing 206 in their previous game against Gujarat Titans (GT). They won by seven balls and five wickets to spare.
