T20Is were introduced in women’s cricket back in 2004 when England took on New Zealand in the first-ever fixture in Hove. Ever since then, the format has seen several top bowlers grace the pitch and make a name for themselves with their remarkable bowling performances.

In the over 21-year-long history of the format, some bowlers shone briefly while others have left everyone flabbergasted with their match-winning performances year after year. As another edition of the T20 World Cup celebrates cricket's fastest-growing format, here are the top three bowlers with the most wickets in Women's T20Is history:

3. Henriette Ishimwe

The right-arm seamer made her debut for Rwanda against Nigeria in January 2019 and returned figures of 1/5 in two overs. In no time, Ishimwe became a regular mainstay in her team on the back of consistent performances. She gradually climbed the list of leading wicket takers in the format and currently sits in third spot with 160 scalps to her name from 125 innings at an average of 10.76 and an economy of 4.41.

2. Thipatcha Putthawong

The left-arm spinner made her debut for Thailand in January 2019 against Myanmar women and remained wicketless in her two overs, giving away 13 runs. The 22-year-old gradually earned a reputation for bamboozling batters with her variations and now sits in second spot among leading wicket takers in T20Is. Putthawong has scalped 165 wickets from 102 innings at an average of 8.87 and an economy of 3.99.

1. Deepti Sharma

The India all-rounder made her T20I debut against Australia in January 2016 and registered figures of 1/19 in four overs. With experience, Deepti Sharma became a regular strike bowler in the Indian team, helping her side script several memorable victories. She broke the world record for most wickets in Women’s T20Is with a five-wicket haul against Pakistan in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.

She now has 166 wickets to her name from 142 innings at an average of 19.42 and an economy of 6.29.
