The biggest game of every ICC event is knocking on our doors once again as India and Pakistan are about to take on each other in the Under-19 World Cup 2026 on Sunday, February 1, at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo.
The two teams have had contrasting journeys in the lead-up to the clash, as Pakistan started the tournament with a 36-run loss against England, but bounced back strongly to register three consecutive victories against Scotland, Zimbabwe, and New Zealand.

On the other hand, India’s campaign has been unblemished so far as they’ve been the team to beat, having hammered the USA, Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Zimbabwe. However, the Men in Blue are about to face their sternest challenge of the tournament, as they recently found themselves on the wrong side of the result in the Under-19 Asia Cup final against their arch-rivals.
Keeping history, recent battles, and all other factors into account, the contest is expected to live up to the reputation of being a typical India versus Pakistan clash, where both teams will raise their game as per the occasion.
Much like the rivalry of the senior team, India and Pakistan have been involved in several memorable battles over the years, with nothing much to separate the two. In the history of Youth ODIs, India and Pakistan have faced off 29 times, where India have a slight upper hand over their rivals, having won 16 times. On the other hand, Pakistan have emerged victorious on 12 occasions, while one game has ended in a tie.
Youth ODI records at Queen Sports Club
As far as the venue for the fixture is concerned, there have been a total of ten youth ODIs played at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo, out of which four each have been won by teams batting and bowling first, while two have ended in no result.
The average first innings score at the venue has been 213, while the highest one is 352/8 posted by India in the ongoing edition of the tournament.
On the other hand, the highest target chased at the venue has been 262 by Sri Lanka in the same edition. If we rule out the only fixture at the venue from 1996, the surface has been favouring chasing teams in the tournament, who’ve won four out of seven matches.
Hence, all these factors are likely to affect the captain’s decision at the toss. With just one semi-final spot up for grabs, the contest is extremely crucial for both sides, who will give their all to progress to the next stage of the competition.
