The Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) is gradually heading towards its business end as the race for the playoffs is beginning to heat up. With just 16 matches remaining in the league stage, the top-ranked teams are suddenly losing their momentum, while the lower-ranked teams are climbing up the IPL 2026 points table.

Getting on a winning run in the IPL is mostly down to finalising the ideal combination. While most teams have their team sorted for the majority of the season, the search for a few sides doesn’t end till the end. As another riveting IPL season heads into its final chapter, here’s a look at the top three teams, which’ve used the most players in search of the ideal combination.

3. Delhi Capitals (20)

The Axar Patel-led side once again got off to a good start to their campaign, winning both of their first two matches. However, after suffering a few losses, Delhi were forced to make changes to find their mojo back.

The 2020 runners-up haven’t been able to build any momentum, despite using 20 players in the season so far. With just two wins from their last nine matches, DC are reeling at eighth spot with eight points from 11 matches and are in search of a miracle to save their season.

2. Chennai Super Kings (20)

CSK are the second team to be most affected by injuries in the ongoing season, with four of their players ruled out due to injuries. CSK have had a hard time finding an ideal playing combination, with most of their star performers getting injured time and again.

The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side has used 20 players this season, but the changes have had a positive effect on the team as Chennai have revived their campaign after a sluggish start.

1. Mumbai Indians (24)

The five-time champions are again having another forgettable season, which has become routine every alternate edition since 2022. With injuries to Mitchell Santner, Rohit Sharma, Quinton de Kock and Hardik Pandya, amongst others, MI have been forced to chop and change a lot in the ongoing season.

They’ve used the most number of players so far, but it hasn’t done much in changing their fortunes as they continue to reel at the second last spot (ninth) with just six points to their name.

Note: All stats updated till Match 53 between Chennai Super Kings vs Lucknow Super Giants.
