IPL 2026: LSG vs KKR, Match 38 at Ekana Cricket Stadium - Stats & player battles to watch

Both Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have had similar trajectories to their IPL 2026 campaigns. LSG have won two of their seven games and lost as many as five. They are down at ninth on the points table with just four points and a net run rate (NRR) of -1.277.

They feel that their domestic pool of Indian talent is enough, and therefore, they aren't even utilising their complete quota of four overseas players every game. However, the results tell a different story.

The pressure, only gradually though, is mounting on skipper Rishabh Pant. Pant has been experimenting with his batting position. After opening alongside Mitchell Marsh in their season opener, Pant has batted at No. 3 but hasn't been consistent.

LSG's pace battery, comprising Prince Yadav, Mohammed Shami and Mohsin Khan, has done well. But the batting order hasn't been able to capitalise on those performances.

Meanwhile, KKR, after going winless in the first six games, now have a win to showcase. They almost made a meal of 156 while chasing against Rajasthan Royals in match No. 28. However, vice-captain Rinku Singh and allrounder Anukul Roy were equal to the task and ensured KKR crossed the line in the end.
