Ever since the inception of T20I cricket in 2004, there have been several players who’ve made a name for themselves through their prolific run-scoring in the format. Over the years, the format has seen players stamping their authority on the bowlers, playing remarkable knocks one after the other.

However, there are also phases in a batter’s career where they aren’t in the best of form and register ducks one after the other. Here are the top three batters with the most ducks in a single year in T20I cricket, among full member nations:

2. Abhishek Sharma

The star India batter has had a remarkable rise over the past few years, being touted as the most aggressive batter in world cricket. In his young career, Abhishek Sharma has already become every bowler's nightmare and risen to the top of the ICC T20I batting rankings. However, the year 2026 hasn’t been the best for Abhishek as he has struggled to maintain consistency. The southpaw has registered six ducks in the year so far, the joint-second most in a year.

2. Richard Ngarava

The Zimbabwe speedster has a terrific record with the ball in the shortest format, being the highest wicket-taker for Zimbabwe in T20Is. Ngarava has scalped 114 wickets from 91 innings at an average of 21.36 and an economy of 7.41. However, he hasn’t enjoyed much success on the batting front, with just 108 runs to his name with a highest score of 12. Ngarava also registered six ducks in 2024, making him a part of the ignominious list.

1. Saim Ayub

The Pakistan opener is counted amongst one of the most promising batting talents from his country. The 24-year-old has scored 1298 runs in his T20I career so far with six fifty-plus scores. However,  year 2025 was the worst in Saim Ayub’s career as he scored just 581 runs from 29 innings. The southpaw registered seven ducks in the year, the joint-most in a calendar year in T20Is.
