The Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) has been a complete run-fest as the season has witnessed 1150 sixes and 1837 fours after 60 matches. The ongoing edition has been a nightmare for the bowlers, with the average run rate of the season being the highest ever in IPL (9.82).
As a result, several bowlers have been put to the sword by some of the most ruthless hitters of the cricket ball. As the batters continue flexing their muscles, here’s a look at the top five most expensive overs bowled in the season so far:

5. Manav Suthar (GT) vs PBKS (27 runs), Match 46, Ahmedabad
The left-arm spinner was ripped apart by Suryansh Shedge as he came on to bowl his first over of the match. After being given the strike by Marcus Stoinis on the first ball of the over, Shedge clobbered Suthar for three sixes and two boundaries to get 27 runs from his over. As a result, his spell ended then and there and didn’t return to bowl for the rest of the match.
4. Anshul Kamboj (CSK) vs LSG (28 runs), Match 59, Lucknow
The right-arm seamer had a rare off day for his team, despite being the third-highest wicket-taker of the tournament. Kamboj became a victim of Mitchell Marsh’s wrath, who smacked him for successive sixes, followed by a boundary off the last ball to get 28 runs from his over. Kamboj leaked 63 runs from 2.4 overs as LSG chased down 188 in 16.4 overs.
3. Xavier Bartlett (PBKS) vs DC (28 runs), Match 35, Delhi
Coming in to bowl his third over of the innings, Xavier Bartlett was up against a well-set Nitish Rana. The southpaw unleashed his fury on the speedster, whacking him for four fours and two sixes to get 28 runs from his over. Bartlett gave away 69 runs from his four overs, registering the most expensive bowling figures by a Punjab Kings' bowler.
2. Jamie Overton (CSK) vs RCB (30 runs), Match 11, Bengaluru
After giving away just 12 runs from his first two overs, Overton returned to bowl the 19th over of the innings. With Tim David on song, he demolished the English seamer, bludgeoning him for four sixes and a boundary to score 30 runs off him. Overton eventually finished with figures of 1/42 in three overs.
1. Aiden Markram (LSG) vs PBKS (32 runs), Match 29, New Chandigarh
With Cooper Connolly and Priyansh Arya being at their belligerent best, captain Rishabh Pant turned to Aiden Markram, hoping for him to produce some magic. However, the decision backfired big time with the duo smashing him for five sixes in his over, where Markram also conceded a wide. He ended up giving 32 runs in his over, registering the ignominious feat of bowling the most expensive over for LSG in IPL history.
