Shubman Gill enjoyed a field day in the second one-dayer of the three-match series against West Indies at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday (September 30). He struck a double hundred, the second of his ODI career, becoming only the second player to score multiple double centuries in the format, other than Rohit Sharma.
Gill produced his career-best 223 off just 133 deliveries, smacking 26 fours and eight sixes, helping India register their highest successful run chase (406) in the format. Gill's maiden ODI double century came against New Zealand in Hyderabad on January 18, 2023.
There are only 10 players who have registered double centuries in ODI cricket. Rohit alone has struck three double centuries. Here's a list of players who have scored double centuries in ODIs:

Meanwhile, Gill has also become the fastest to score a double hundred in ODIs in terms of balls faced. He shattered compatriot Ishan Kishan's 126-ball record. 117 balls is all Gill took to score his double century against Windies on September 30.
