Vidarbha's right-arm pacer Praful Hinge hogged the limelight on his IPL debut in the 21st match of the ongoing edition between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad.

The 24-year-old grabbed the big wickets of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel and Lhuan-dre Pretorius in his opening over to become the first player in the 19-year-long history of the cash-rich league to claim three wickets in their first over. Hinge took his fourth wicket in the third over of the innings and became the first player to claim a four-fer inside the first three overs of an IPL innings.

Hinge's fourth victim was the Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag, and the dismissal helped him become only the second bowler to claim a four-wicket haul on IPL debut. Ashwani Kumar remains the first one to do so. Ashwani achieved the feat while playing for Mumbai Indians against Kolkata Knight Riders in match No. 12 of IPL 2025 at Wankhede, where he dismissed Ajinkya Rahane, Rinku Singh, Manish Pandey and Andre Russell.

Hinge's fast-bowling teammate and fellow SRH debutant, Sakib Hussain, also claimed a four-wicket haul to join the elite list after accounting for Yashasvi Jaiswal, Donovan Ferreira, Jofra Archer and Ravi Bishnoi.

Hinge and Sakib also became only the second Indian bowling pair and fourth overall to take four wickets apiece in the same IPL innings. Mohit Sharma (4/28) and Mohammed Shami (4/21) were the first Indian pair to achieve the feat, against SRH, in the 62nd match of IPL 2023.

Hinge and Hussain's spells helped SRH beat Rajasthan by a staggering margin of 57 runs. The Orange Army is now fourth on the points table with two wins and three losses and have accumulated four points. They have a net run rate (NRR) of 0.576. On the other hand, Rajasthan are still at the top of the ladder with eight points after four wins and a solitary loss. Their net run rate has taken a hit and is now 0.889.
