Star India cricketer Rohit Sharma is one of the most explosive batters in modern-day cricket. Over the course of his career, Rohit has set new standards as an opening batter, playing several remarkable knocks to guide his team to memorable victories.

In his illustrious career, the former India captain has played many belligerent innings, becoming every bowler’s nightmare. As the rumours of Rohit Sharma's retirement are doing the rounds, here’s a recall of his three fastest centuries in ODI cricket:


3. 82 balls vs England, Nottingham, 2018

Chasing a modest target of 269, Rohit launched an all-out attack on the English bowlers, scoring a magnificent century. He brought up his milestone off just 82 balls and remained unbeaten on 137* (114), having hit 15 fours and four sixes. Courtesy of his innings, India chased down the target in just 40.1 overs.


2. 76 balls vs England, Cuttack, 2025

With India set a target of 305, Rohit Sharma took matters into his own hands to get the team off to a fiery start and scored a breathtaking century. He brought up his milestone off just 76 balls, smashing 12 fours and seven sixes. Rohit scored 119 (90) and was adjudged Player of the Match as he took India home in 44.3 overs, to script a four-wicket win.


1. 63 balls vs Afghanistan, Delhi, 2023

Chasing a target of 273 runs in India’s second match of the ODI World Cup 2023, Rohit was in a hurry to complete the run chase. He brought up his hundred off just 63 balls, shattering the record for the fastest World Cup century by an Indian, which was further surpassed by KL Rahul in the same tournament.

Rohit scored 131 (84) with the help of 16 fours and five sixes as India chased down the target in just 35 overs to win by eight wickets. It remains the fastest 270-plus run chase in ODI cricket.
