After nearly a month-long mouthwatering action, four teams have successfully pipped others to secure their respective berths in the semifinal of the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup. South Africa, who were the runners-up at the previous edition, will square off against New Zealand in the first semifinal at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on March 4.

South Africa are the only unbeaten side in the ongoing edition, having won seven games on the bounce. South Africa's head coach, Shukri Conrad, is happy to carry the favourites tag heading into the knockouts, and therefore their clash with the Blackcaps would make for a riveting clash.

Both teams have already played each other once in the 2026 edition, and it was the Proteas who had emerged victorious by seven wickets, riding on a four-fer by Marco Jansen and an unbeaten 86 by the skipper Aiden Markram.

This will be the sixth T20 World Cup meeting between the two adversaries and yet another opportunity for the Kiwis to register a win over the Proteas.
