The International Cricket Council (ICC), the apex governing body of the game, organises a wide range of tournaments across formats and age groups, bringing together teams from around the world. These events are considered the pinnacle of international cricket, where the finest sides compete on the biggest stage.

ICC Men’s ODI World Cup

It is the biggest 50‑over competition in the world. Its format has evolved over the years; the last two editions in 2019 and 2023 featured 10 teams in a round‑robin stage, with the top four qualifying for the semi‑finals. The 2027 edition will expand to 14 teams. It is held every four years. Australia are the defending champions, having won the 2023 edition.

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

It is the T20 equivalent of the ODI World Cup, staged every two years. It features 20 teams spread across multiple groups. India are the reigning champions, having won earlier this year by beating the Blackcaps on home soil.

ICC Men’s Champions Trophy

Another 50‑over competition organised by the ICC, but it is restricted to the top eight teams in the ICC men’s ODI rankings. The Men in Blue are the defending champions, having beaten New Zealand in the 2025 edition in Dubai.

ICC World Test Championship

The ICC World Test Championship is the premier competition in Test cricket, played over two‑year cycles. The top two teams by points percentage qualify for the final. South Africa are the current champions, having beaten Australia at Lord’s in the 2023–25 cycle.

ICC Men’s U19 World Cup

It is the most prestigious age‑group event in men’s cricket, held every two years. India are the defending champions, having beaten England in Harare earlier this year. India are the most successful side in the competition with six titles.

ICC Women’s ODI World Cup

It is the premier 50‑over tournament in women’s cricket, first played in 1973. Australia are the most successful side with seven titles. India are the defending champions, having won the 2025 edition.

ICC Women’s T20 World Cup

It is the leading global event in women’s T20 cricket. 10 editions of the tournament have been played so far, with Australia winning seven. They are the reigning champions, having beaten England recently at Lord's, under the leadership of Sophie Molineux.

ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup

It is the most prestigious age‑group tournament in women’s cricket. Only two editions have been held (2023 and 2025) thus far, and India have won both.

ICC Women’s Champions Trophy

It is a newly announced tournament, with the inaugural edition scheduled for February 2027 in Sri Lanka.
