Every era of international cricket is blessed with batters who bring the fans to the edge of their seats through their spectacular strokeplay. Some batters just stand out from the rest for their remarkable consistency and match-winning ability, guiding their teams to several memorable wins.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) rewards these players through their rankings system after evaluating their performances regularly and gives them a chance to climb to the top. The batters also enjoy the race as they compete with their opponents from around the globe to be crowned number one in the world. Here are the current no 1 batters in the world across all three formats:

1. Harry Brook (Tests)

The England vice-captain occupies the number-one spot in Test batting rankings with 869 ratings to his name. Harry Brook has been in sensational form throughout his career and has scored 953 runs since 2025 at an average of 45.38 with two centuries and six fifties to his name.


2. Daryl Mitchell (ODIs)

The star New Zealand batter is comfortably sitting at the top spot of the ODI batting rankings, having 815 ratings to his name. Mitchell has consistently averaged over 50 over the past three years and has scored 1,113 runs since 2025 at an average of 69.56 with three centuries and seven fifties to his name.


3. Abhishek Sharma (T20Is)

The young India opener occupies the top spot in the T20I batting rankings with 875 ratings to his name. Abhishek Sharma has scored 1182 runs in the shortest format since 2025 at an average of 36.93 and a strike rate of 195.04 with one hundred and nine fifties to his name.

However, Sharma is closely followed by his teammate Ishan Kishan on the T20I batting rankings, who occupies the second spot with 871 ratings. The two will be in a close competition for the number one rank in the upcoming series against Ireland.
