The Indian cricket team is rated amongst the best teams in the world due to their remarkable performances in the 21st century. After their landmark victory in the 1983 ODI World Cup, India’s performances only got better over the years as several big names made their mark at the international level.

One of the most important aspects where India has improved is the fitness standards. The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) introduced the Yo-Yo Test in 2017, making it mandatory for players to pass it to earn selection in the team. Over the years, several players have set new benchmarks, showcasing their remarkable fitness through their Yo-Yo scores.

Here are three players with the highest Yo-Yo scores in Indian cricket:

3. Manish Pandey

Manish Pandey is rated as one of the most talented cricketers in the country. He rose to overnight fame after becoming the first Indian to score a century in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history during the 2009 edition of the tournament. Pandey had one of the highest Yo-Yo scores in the Indian team, having achieved a score of 19 in 2017.

While it’s prohibited for players to reveal their Yo-Yo scores to the public, former cricketer Ashish Nehra disclosed Pandey’s score while commentating during the India vs Sri Lanka 1st Test in Kolkata, 2017.

2. Hardik Pandya

Handya Pandya is also one of the fittest cricketers in the Indian team as the role of an all-rounder requires him to bowl seam bowling, which puts extra stress on his body. The 32-year-old gives the perfect balance to the side in white-ball formats with his all-round abilities. Pandya has also achieved a score of 19 in the Yo-Yo Test, as revealed by Ashish Nehra while commentating during the India vs Sri Lanka 1st Test in Kolkata in 2017.

1. Mayank Agarwal

The opening batter made a remarkable debut in international cricket during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2018-19, scoring 76 in the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Building on his initial performances, he cemented his place in the Indian team at the top of the order and scored 1488 runs from 21 Tests. Mayank also has the best Yo-Yo score for any Indian cricketer, as per the data available in public.

He achieved a remarkable 21.1 in September 2023, sharing his score through a video on his Instagram handle. Since Agarwal was not a part of the BCCI central contract list at the time, he could share his score with the fans.

Note - Only scores shared by the cricketers themselves or revealed through an ex-cricketer are considered for this list.
