3 Pakistan cricketers who are huge golf enthusiasts

In the rich history of cricket, there have been several players who not only excel with their remarkable skill sets on the pitch but also have a deep interest in other sports. 1. Wasim Akram

The legendary fast bowler is popularly called the Sultan of Swing for his sheer ability to make the ball dance to his tunes. Akram is often counted amongst the greatest bowlers to have ever played the game, having scalped a whopping 916 wickets in his international career. The legendary seamer is also a golf aficionado and frequently plays in Karachi and Dubai.

2. Waqar Younis

Wasim Akram’s partner in crime with the ball, Waqar Younis, formed one of the greatest bowling pairs in the history of the game with the legendary pacer. Younis also had the ability to swing the ball but with even deadlier pace than Akram. He accumulated 789 wickets across Tests and ODIs in a legendary career. Apart from his coaching stints, Younis is also a keen golfer and regularly participates in amateur tournaments and charity golf events in Pakistan and the UAE.

3. Saleem Malik

The former Pakistan captain is touted as one of the most gifted batters of his country. Malik played 103 Tests for Pakistan, scoring 5768 runs and also accumulating 7170 runs from 283 ODIs. Following his retirement, he’s regarded as one of the best golfers among former Pakistan cricketers and is a regular at Lahore Gymkhana.
