Indian all-rounder Ashutosh Sharma is set to represent Hampshire in England’s domestic List A competition, the One-Day Cup. Ashutosh plays for Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is also co-owned by Hampshire owners GMR Group.
Ashutosh last played in the Madhya Pradesh Premier League for Malwa Stallions in June 2026, scoring 165 runs and scalping seven wickets from nine matches.
"We're really pleased to sign Ashutosh for the One-Day Cup. He is a player of great potential and has done well for Delhi Capitals in the IPL recently, so knows what it's like to perform to a high standard. We look forward to welcoming him into the group and seeing what he can do in a Hampshire shirt as we look to go one step further than last year in the competition,” Giles White was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.
In his List A career, Ashutosh Sharma has scored 458 runs with three half-centuries and claimed two wickets. However, it is in the IPL where he has truly established himself as a destructive lower-order batter. After making his IPL debut with Punjab Kings in 2024, he has spent the last two seasons with Delhi Capitals, amassing 375 runs at a strike rate of 169.68 across the 2025 and 2026 editions.
Ashutosh's previous stints in the UK
He's no stranger to English conditions, having previously played club cricket in the UK. He represented Middlesex Titans in 2017 before turning out for Gravesend in 2022 and 2023. Last year, he featured for Wigan in the Liverpool League and grabbed headlines in 2025 when he smashed a blistering century for the club just hours after arriving in England.
Hampshire, who are the runners-up of last season's One-Day Cup, will begin their 2026 campaign against Yorkshire at Scarborough on Tuesday, July 21.
