BCCI to announce India squad for ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 on May 2

The India women’s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 will be announced on Saturday, May 2, announced the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India). The T20 World Cup 2026 is all set to be played in England and Wales from June 12 to July 5.
A total of 12 teams will be participating in the event, who’re placed in two groups of six each. India are in Group A alongside Bangladesh, South Africa, Pakistan, Netherlands and Australia.

The Women in Blue recently played a five-match T20I series against South Africa, where they lost 1-4. They will also take on England in a three-match series beginning on May 28, which will be their final preparation ahead of the mega event.
The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side will begin their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on June 14 at Edgbaston, Birmingham.
Meanwhile, England and New Zealand have already announced their squads for the mega event. Both sides are placed in Group B alongside Scotland, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Ireland. Teams finishing in the top two of each group will progress to the semi-final.
