The troubles for England players have compounded in Australia, this time in an off-the-field incident, as the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has launched a probe into a video allegedly showing Ben Duckett drunk and lost. The clip in question has gone viral after surfacing on social media on Tuesday, December 23.

The person alleged to be the England opener in the video appears to be trying to find his way back to the team hotel in Noosa during the England team's break between the second and third Tests of their ongoing Ashes tour. Clad in a white t-shirt and dark-coloured shorts, the man in question is seen and heard talking to a couple of individuals who try to help him find his way back.

Meanwhile, Rob Key - the managing director of the England cricket team - had already announced an investigation into the drinking spree of some of the England players during their break in Noosa before the Duckett video emerged. The English players are alleged to have consumed alcohol heavily, which, according to Key, is something that he would not expect from an international team.

The ECB, in the wake of the Duckett video, has issued a statement confirming a probe and highlighting the importance of good conduct from the players.

"We are aware of content circulating on social media. We have high expectations for behaviour, accepting that players are often under intense levels of scrutiny, with established processes that we follow when conduct falls below expectations. We also support players that need assistance. We will not comment further at this stage while we establish the facts," the ECB stated, as reported by ESPNCricinfo.
The England team were 0-2 down in the Ashes at the time of their break in Noosa. Though they fared much better in the subsequent Test at the Adelaide Oval, the team could not avoid another defeat, which meant that the dream of winning the Ashes was over.
Australia beat their arch-rivals by 82 runs in what was a splendid performance underlined by Travis Head's 170 in the second innings and Player of the Match Alex Carey's all-round display. The fourth Test of the series begins at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday, December 26.
