England have announced their squad for the three-match ODI series against Ireland at home, with Charlie Dean named as captain in Nat Sciver-Brunt's absence. Sciver-Brunt has been managing a calf issue for months and was forced to play as a specialist batter in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup. She also played the same role for Trent Rockets in the recently concluded women's Hundred and played some stellar knocks, contributing to their successful campaign.
Sciver-Brunt is managing calf issues and has also decided to skip the upcoming WBBL season. Danni Wyatt-Hodge was also unavailable for selection as she continues to recuperate from a left calf tear sustained during the course of the women's Hundred.
England have included the uncapped pair of wicketkeeper batter Kira Chathli and seamer Grace Potts in the touring party. Allrounder Charis Pavely, who has played two T20Is, has also been named on the team and might make her ODI debut. Sophie Ecclestone and Lauren Bell have also been rested for the series.
The tour will get underway at Grace Road in Leicester on September 1. The second and third ODIs will be played at County Ground in Derby and New Road in Worcester on September 3 and 6, respectively.
