The Men's T20 World Cup 2026 is the biggest upcoming ICC event on the cricketing calendar, and 20 teams from across the globe will battle it out to get their hands on the coveted silverware.
All teams have been divided into four groups of five, with each set to play against the other once. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Eight, where they will be arranged per pre-determined seedings. India and Sri Lanka will co-host the tournament.

The Men in Blue are the defending champions, having won the previous iteration in the USA and the Caribbean in 2024 without losing a game. They have a shot at history, as no team has successfully defended its title. A successful title defence will also help them become the first team to win the competition on home turf, and also the first-ever to win the coveted title three times.
India are placed in Group A alongside the USA, Netherlands, Namibia, and arch-rivals Pakistan. They will open their campaign against the USA on February 7 in Mumbai.
With less than two months to go, a sense of anticipation is building among fans and international stars alike. Invited to the launch of Mr Cricket UAE, the first cricket digital media house in the United Arab Emirates, Eoin Morgan, JP Duminy, Adil Rashid, Dinesh Karthik, Moeen Ali, Khurram Khan, Angelo Mathews, and Fakhar Zaman named their top contenders for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026.
While Rashid and Duminy predicted the Three Lions, Morgan and Anis Sajan, the founder of Mr Cricket UAE, backed India to defend their title. Fakhar, Khurram, and Mathews named Pakistan, the UAE, and Sri Lanka as the favourites for the global event.
Humorous in tone, Karthik namedropped the USA to leave everyone in splits, whereas Moeen said that the 2021 T20 World Cup winners, Australia, would add another ICC trophy to their cabinet.
