Indonesia's right-arm pacer Gede Priandana created history on Tuesday, December 23, as he became the first (male or female) to claim five wickets in a single over in a T20I fixture. Priandana registered figures of 5/1 and guided Indonesia to a 60-run win in the first T20I of the ongoing eight-match series between Indonesia and Cambodia.

Chasing 168 runs to win in 20 overs, Cambodia were firmly placed at 106 for the loss of five wickets at the end of the 15-over mark and needed 62 runs to win off 30 balls. However, Indonesia skipper Danilson Hawoe introduced Priandana into the attack, and it changed the entire complexion of the game.

Priandana registered a hat-trick, dismissing Shah Abrar Hussain, Nirmaljit Singh, and Chanthoeun Rathaank on the first three deliveries of the over. The fourth delivery was a dot, and Priandana killed Cambodia's chase by getting rid of Mongdara Sok and Pel Vannak on the final two balls of his eventful over.

Cambodia lost the game by 60 runs. Indonesia's wicketkeeper-batter Dharma Kesuma was adjudged the Player of the Match (POTM) for his unbeaten 110 off 68 balls, including eight fours and six sixes at a strike rate of 161.76.

The two teams also played the 2nd T20I on the same day, and despite his heroic over in the previous game, the Indonesia captain only gave him a solitary over. The hosts won the match by three runs.
