Adelaide Strikers have signed Haris Rauf for the 2026-27 Big Bash League season, which gets underway on December 12. Rauf, Ben Stokes and Mark Chapman are the Strikers' overseas recruits and are expected to be available for the entirety of the tournament.

Strikers head coach Tim Paine believes Rauf will add significant firepower to the team's pace attack while also bringing a wealth of experience.

"Haris is a proven match-winner who has performed at the highest level in international cricket and franchise competitions around the world," Paine said in a statement. "Strikers fans are going to love watching him steam in at Adelaide Oval. He's one of the fastest bowlers in world cricket and has the ability to change a game in an instant.

"We're thrilled to welcome Haris to Adelaide for the entire tournament. He's an exciting player, a fierce competitor, and someone who will bring plenty of energy to our group. Having all of our international players available for the entire tournament was a key priority throughout the off-season, and we believe it will be a significant advantage for our side."

This is the first time Rauf will be playing for a club other than Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League. Rauf made his BBL debut for Stars in the 2019-20 season and played his last for them in 2026.

During his stint for Stars, Rauf claimed 56 wickets in 33 matches, averaging 16.48 at an economy rate of 7.92, including a five-wicket haul. Only two players have claimed more wickets for Stars than Rauf: Marcus Stoinis (59 wickets) and Adam Zampa (98 wickets).

"I can't wait to get started with the Adelaide Strikers. Adelaide Oval is one of the great cricket venues in the world, and I've always enjoyed playing there," Rauf said in a statement. "The Strikers have a strong squad with world-class players like Ben Stokes, Matt Short and Mark Chapman, so I'm really excited about the opportunity to play alongside them.

"We've got a talented group, and I'm looking forward to contributing wherever I can to help the team push deep into the finals and compete for a championship."
