Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have signed RS Ambrish as an injury replacement for Shivam Mavi for the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026). Mavi was bought for his base price of Rs 75 lakh at the mini-auction ahead of the ongoing season.
However, he didn’t feature in a single game and has now been ruled out due to a groin injury. In his place, RS Ambrish has been signed for Rs 30 lakh by SRH. The 18-year-old is a seam all-rounder who played a pivotal role in India’s Under-19 World Cup triumph earlier this year.

SRH to face KKR next
SRH didn’t have a good beginning to the season as regular captain Pat Cummins was unavailable due to injury, and Ishan Kishan was entrusted with the leadership duties. The youngster found it tough to fill in Cummins’ shoes as skipper, with SRH losing three out of their first four matches.
However, Kishan inspired his men to script a remarkable turnaround midway through the season, guiding them to three successive wins before Cummins’ return.
Meanwhile, SRH will next take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on May 3 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
