The IPL 2027 auction will be held in Goa on December 16. The IPL has also informed all 10 franchises that the retention deadline for the 2027 season is November 15. Once franchises announce their retention lists, the IPL will share the registered player pool with them for shortlisting before the final auction list is trimmed.

The IPL 2027 auction will be a day-long event and will take place on the same day as the second ODI of the three-match series between India and Sri Lanka. It will be the final mini-auction of the IPL's current cycle, with a mega auction scheduled ahead of the 2028 season.

This year's trade window has been relatively quiet, with only two player trades completed so far. The most significant of them was the deal between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Delhi Capitals (DC), involving Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav, which was finalised in June.

Pant, who was earning INR 27 crore at LSG, accepted a pay cut to return to Delhi. He will earn INR 15 crore for the IPL 2027 season, a reduction of INR 12 crore, or nearly 45% of his previous salary. Kuldeep, meanwhile, was earning INR 13.50 crore at DC and has been traded to LSG on the same contract value.

Left-arm pacer T Natarajan also took a pay cut as part of a trade between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Natarajan was bought by DC for INR 10.75 crore at the IPL 2025 auction and earned the same amount during the recently concluded season. However, he has been traded to SRH for INR 5 crore, resulting in a pay cut of INR 5.75 crore.

In return, DC have acquired SRH spinner Zeeshan Ansari. Ansari will earn INR 40 lakh while representing DC in the IPL 2027 season.
