Reports have emerged that the upcoming IPL auction is set to be held in India, breaking the recent trend of staging the event overseas. Kochi hosted the auction in 2023, and since then the event has travelled to Dubai, Jeddah and Abu Dhabi. The IPL 2025 auction was held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Australia's star allrounder Cameron Green had emerged as the most expensive signing.
Three-time IPL winners Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) splurged INR 25.20 crore to rope Green into their squad.
