Jacob Duffy (5/42) and Ajaz Patel (3/23) led the charge for the Kiwis on the final day of the third Test at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui and ripped the West Indies batting order to shreds to guide the hosts to a massive 323-run win. The win has helped New Zealand consolidate their second spot on the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 points table.
After a promising end to day four, West Indies began their pursuit of 462 on the final day with Brandon King looking in full flow. King took the attack to the Kiwis and smashed 13 fours in his 67-run knock. His opening partner, John Campbell, was fairly circumspect but succumbed as soon as Duffy got rid of King.

The breakthrough triggered a collapse as the visitors went from 87 for no loss to 138 all out, and Duffy was the wrecker-in-chief for the hosts. Duffy accounted for King, Alick Athanaze, Justin Greaves, Roston Chase, and Jayden Seales to complete his five-for. Duffy got the ball to talk and landed it in the right areas to leave the tourists bewildered.
On the other hand, Ajaz dismissed Campbell, Kavem Hodge, and Shai Hope. He got a bit of purchase from wear and tear on the deck and proved once again why he is considered one of the best in the country.
Notably, Australia are at the top of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle.
