Jamaica Kingsmen have announced their 19-member squad for the upcoming season of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), and it is heavily loaded with Pakistan players.
Saim Ayub, Maaz Sadaqat, Usman Khan, Hunain Shah and Tayyab Arif will be seen in action for Jamaica in the 14th season of the CPL. Shayan Jahangir and Hassan Khan, who are of Pakistani origin but represent the USA, have also been named in the squad.
Notably, all seven of these players were also a part of Jamaica's parent franchise, Hyderabad Kingsmen, in PSL 2026. Hyderabad were led by Marnus Labuschagne this season and lost to Peshawar Zalmi by five wickets in the final of the Pakistan Super League.
Ayub is the most popular of the seven players and has fond memories of playing in the tournament. Representing Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) in the 2023 season, Ayub finished as the second-leading run-scorer behind his teammate Shai Hope. The southpaw aggregated 478 runs in 13 games, averaging 43.45 at a strike rate of 142.26, including four fifties.
Similar to Ayub, Sadaqat is also an aggressive left-handed opener and has recently made his T20I and ODI debuts for Pakistan. Sadaqat played 12 games in PSL 2026 and amassed 260 runs, averaging 23.63 at a strike rate of 178.08, including two half-centuries. His strike rate was the best among the top 20 run-getters of the tournament.
Usman, too, had a productive PSL 2026. He was the leading run-accumulator for Hyderabad with 389 runs in 13 matches, averaging 35.36, at a strike rate of 162.76, including a hundred and three fifties.
Notably, the trio of Ayub, Sadaqat and Usman will only be available for Jamaica in the second half of the season, whereas Arif and Jahangir will be absent from the second half. Hassan and Hunain will be available for the entire season. CPL 2026 will run from August 7 to September 20, clashing directly with the Hundred.
