The International Cricket Council (ICC) and Cricket West Indies (CWI) have charged veteran fast-bowling all-rounder Javon Searles, Titans' team owner Chitranjan Rathod and team official Trevon Griffith with breaches of anti-corruption codes in relation to the Bim10 League 2023-24 edition held in Barbados.

The global and national boards have charged and provisionally suspended the trio in accordance with their respective anti-corruption codes. Notably, Searles faces four and Rathod faces three charges under the CWI's code whereas Griffith faces four under the CWI code and one under the ICC code. The latter is alleged to have performed corrupt practices with respect to international matches, too.

The CWI codes under which the trio have been charged are Article 2.1.1 (fixing or attempting to fix), Article 2.1.4 (encouraging or soliciting players to commit offences), and Article 2.4.4 (failing or refusing to cooperate with investigation). Moreover, Searles and Griffith have been charged with Article 2.4.2 as well which relates to not disclosing corrupt approaches.

Griffith, as mentioned above, also faces a charge under the ICC code. The 34-year-old is alleged to have breached Article 2.4.7 which concerns with obstructing the investigation by concealing or tampering with the evidence.

The trio have 14 days to respond to the allegations and charges, starting from March 11. Notably, the ICC has revealed that these charges also relate to the investigation that led to USA batter Aaron Jones' suspension from all cricket for breaching five ICC and CWI anti-corruption codes.

As a matter of fact, Searles has played for the West Indies Under-19s, Kolkata Knight Riders in 2018, and the Trinbago Knight Riders in the CPL from 2014-2019. Griffith, on the other hand, is a left-hand opening batter who also represented the West Indies Under-19, Guyana Amazon Warriors (2013-2015) and Jamaica Tallawahs (2015, 2017, 2019) in the CPL.

The Bim10 League is a 10-overs per side tournament organised by the Barbados Cricket Association and played at the Windward Club in St. Philip.
