Bangladesh will have a depleted squad at their disposal for the three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, with skipper Litton Das, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Hasan Mahmud and Taskin Ahmed set to feature in the Lanka Premier League (LPL). They have been provided with no-objection certificates to represent their respective sides in Sri Lanka's premier T20 competition.
Towhid Hridoy has been named captain in Litton's absence, and this will be the second time leading the country in the shortest format. He had to step in for Litton in the recently concluded three-match series against Australia, where Bangladesh were clean swept 3-0.
Litton is still recovering from the calf injury that sidelined him from T20Is against Australia and is most likely to miss the ODI series opener against the Chevrons. BCB have left Shamim Hossain out of the squad that played against Australia and have included Mosaddek Hossain, Yasir Ali and Mohammad Saifuddin in the team.
Bangladesh suffered a humbling innings and 85-run defeat at the hands of Zimbabwe in the one-off Test. However, they will have a wonderful opportunity to give one back at the hosts as the ODI series gets underway with the first fixture to be played on July 6. All the three games will be held at the Harare Sports Club with the second and third ODI to be played on July 9 and July 11, respectively.
