Mohammed Siraj has been named captain of Hyderabad for the first two matches of the Ranji Trophy 2026–27 season. The right‑arm seamer will have left‑arm pacer Chama V Milind as his vice‑captain. The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) confirmed in a media release that Milind will lead the side whenever Siraj is unavailable.
The HCA has announced a 15‑member squad for the opening two fixtures of their campaign. Siraj is expected to be available for both matches, although he is also part of India’s squad for the three‑match ODI series against West Indies at home.
The ODI series begins on September 27 at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. The second match will be played on September 30 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, followed by the final ODI on October 3 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh.
The ODIs will be followed by the T20I leg, but Siraj is not part of India’s squad for the shortest format. India will then fly to New Zealand for a multi-format tour which begins on October 22 with a five-match T20I series. Siraj is expected to be a part of the overseas tour.
Hyderabad’s Ranji Trophy campaign begins against Tripura on October 11, with the venue yet to be announced. Their second fixture is against Andhra in Vizianagaram from October 18.
