Will Young has replaced Kane Williamson in New Zealand's squad for the remainder of the Test series against England. Young will join the squad on June 14 (Sunday) and will start training from Monday onwards in a bid to prepare for the second Test of the series starting Wednesday, June 17.

Young, 33, has played 23 Tests for New Zealand and aggregated 1215 runs at an average of 31.97 with the help of 11 fifties. He continues to search for the elusive three-figure mark in the red-ball format and would love to achieve it in the ongoing series if presented with an opportunity.

Meanwhile, Kane Williamson has announced that he will remain with New Zealand's squad for a few more days before saying the final goodbye.

"I'll be around for a little bit but yeah, giving the team a bit of space," Williamson said in his retirement press conference. "It's delicate. In the team it's news to some of them and to a lot of them and it's a change, so we'll just cross that bridge over the next few days.

"There's growth there too, I've been a part of the furniture for quite a while and there's many leaders in that group and I remember the day when other leaders in our team left and there's steps to take and I think me stepping away allows that as well."

New Zealand squad for the second and third Test vs England:
