New Zealand recall Hannah Rowe, Molly Penfold for T20I tour of Australia

New Zealand have announced a 15-member squad for their upcoming three-match T20I series against Australia, which begins on October 18 at North Sydney Oval. Right-arm off-spinner Eden Carson has returned to the squad after recovering from elbow surgery, an injury that had sidelined her since December last year.

Her return strengthens New Zealand's spin-bowling resources, which already include captain Amelia Kerr, Flora Devonshire, and Nensi Patel.

"To be back in the White Ferns environment is really special," Carson said in a New Zealand Cricket press release. "The rehab process has taken a lot of patience, but I've been fortunate to have great support around me and I'm feeling ready to get back out there and contribute."

Wicketkeeper-batter Izzy Gaze was unavailable for selection as she continues her rehabilitation following surgery on a thumb injury. Polly Inglis will take over wicketkeeping duties in Gaze's absence, while Bella James has been named the reserve wicketkeeper for the tour.

The White Ferns have also recalled Molly Penfold and Hannah Rowe following the retirements of several senior players, adding experience and depth to the pace attack. Penfold, 25, has taken seven wickets in 11 T20Is at an economy rate of 7.54. Rowe brings greater experience, having featured in 47 T20Is and claimed 24 wickets at an economy rate of 7.67.

Former Blackcaps batter Dean Brownlie, who has served as the White Ferns' batting coach for the past four years, has been appointed interim head coach for the Australia tour following Ben Sawyer's departure a few weeks ago.
