India fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of the upcoming five-match ODI series against New Zealand. Krishna is recovering from a hamstring injury, and his availability for the 50-over series was subject to fitness clearance.

However, the BCCI has revealed that the fast bowler will need additional time to build up the workload required to be match ready. He will instead join India A squad for the third and final four-day game against New Zealand A after clearing the Return to Play (RTP) assessment.

It will allow the right-arm speedster to gain much-needed match practice and prepare for the upcoming two-match Test series against New Zealand, starting November 19, 2026. Meanwhile, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy will remain a part of the ODI squad for the first ODI against New Zealand set to be played on November 04, 2026.

He will then be released from the squad to link up with the India A squad for the third four-day game against New Zealand A to allow him some match practice ahead of the Test series.

Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj will also join the India A squad for the second four-day game, starting October 31, 2026, against New Zealand A.
