Ollie Peake, who led Australia at the ICC Men's U19 World Cup earlier this year, has earned his maiden ODI call-up and will travel to Pakistan with the senior team for a three-match ODI series to be played later this month. Cricket Australia (CA) has also announced the squads for the multi-format series against Bangladesh, including three ODIs and as many T20Is.
ODI skipper Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood have been rested for both tours as Australia have a rigorous 15 months of Test cricket ahead. All three players are currently in the IPL. Australia's T20I captain Mitchell Marsh will step in for Pat Cummins and lead the ODI side in Pakistan and Bangladesh, respectively.

Interestingly, the selectors have named Cameron Green in all three squads with his IPL side, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), still mathematically alive in the playoffs race. Josh Inglis has also been named for all three contests. Inglis is playing for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), who are already out of the playoff race alongside Mumbai Indians.
The notable omissions include Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis and Steve Smith. All three men have retired from ODIs but are active in the shortest format; still, CA hasn't picked them for the T20Is in Bangladesh.
Adelaide Strikers' fast-bowling allrounder Liam Scott and Sydney Sixers' left-arm off-spinner Joel Davies have also earned their maiden international call-ups. While Scott will be a part of both the ODI series, Davies has only been named for the T20I leg of Bangladesh.
