Season 3 of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) hasn't got off to the kind of start fans anticipated, as match No. 2 between Pakistan Champions and Bangladesh Champions was postponed on the opening day (October 3). The fixture was set to get underway at 7:30 PM (local time) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium but was postponed "due to technical reasons". The WCL confirmed the match had been postponed and urged the fans to keep supporting the tournament.

"Due to technical reasons, the match has been postponed. Further updates will be shared soon. Thank you for understanding," read a WCL statement.

Mr Cricket UAE understands that the Pakistan Champions are still awaiting No Objection Certificates (NoCs) from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to participate in the marquee tournament. Pakistan Champions owner Kamil Khan remains hopeful that the PCB will grant clearance for the team's participation.

Meanwhile, World Championship of Legends CEO and founder Harshit Tomar was asked about the absence of the Pakistan Champions on Saturday. In response, he said discussions are ongoing with the "right authorities" and expressed confidence that the matter would be resolved soon.

"Cricket is a sport that has brought immense joy to people around the world. It is hugely popular in Pakistan and equally loved in India," Tomar said in a media interaction. "There are many Pakistani legends whom we have watched for years and grown up admiring. We would definitely like them to be a part of our tournament. They have been a part of it and will continue to be a part of it. The right conversations are taking place with the right authorities at the right time, and we are confident that things will move in a positive direction. As for the rest, it is in God's hands."
