PCB announces Pakistan women's white-ball tour of Sri Lanka amid T20 World Cup prep

The Pakistan women’s team will tour Sri Lanka in July-August for a white‑ball series, with all matches scheduled at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium, Hambantota.

The tour begins with a three‑match ODI series, which forms part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2025‑29. The ODIs are slated for July 23, July 25, and July 28.

Pakistan currently sit second on the Championship table with eight points, having won four of their six fixtures and lost two. Their net run rate (NRR) stands at 1.928, reflecting dominant wins in the matches they’ve secured.

New Zealand are at the top of the points table, with 13 points from nine games (six wins, two losses, one no result). New Zealand’s net run rate is 1.776, slightly less than that of Pakistan.

Following the ODIs, the tour will conclude with a three‑match T20I series on July 31, August 2, and August 4.

This series offers Pakistan a chance to consolidate their position in the ICC Women’s Championship while also testing their T20I depth against a competitive Sri Lankan side.

Sri Lanka women have begun their T20 World Cup prep on a positive note. They have won both their warm-up games and look poised ahead of the main tournament. They beat Pakistan by nine wickets in their first warm-up game and hammered Netherlands by seven wickets in the second.

Meanwhile, Pakistan have lost both their warm-up fixtures and need to dust themselves off quickly. Their second loss came against Scotland by 41 runs (DLS).

Both teams are in two different groups for the main event, and need to play out of their skins to make it to the semifinals.
