The Pakistan Super League (PSL) will clash with the Indian Premier League (IPL) for a third consecutive year, with its 12th season scheduled to run from March 18 to May 2, 2027.
The PSL was traditionally held between February and March until the 2024 edition, but the scheduling of ICC events disrupted that cycle. The ICC Champions Trophy in 2025 and the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in 2026 forced the tournament into the April-May window, resulting in a direct clash with the IPL.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi has vowed to deliver "another outstanding" PSL season.
"HBL PSL 11 showed the world what this league is capable of: thrilling moments that captivated the entire nation, record crowds, and record broadcast numbers. HBL PSL 12 will raise the bar even further," Naqvi said in a press release.
"We are committed to delivering another outstanding season and look forward to seeing all eight franchises compete once again for the title."
The Pakistan Cricket Board has revealed that there was a meeting held in London on September 1, which was attended by owners and the representatives of all eight franchises.
The PCB has confirmed that all eight franchises which competed in the previous season of the PSL will return to compete for the title.
