South Africa have announced their squad for an upcoming tri-nation T20I series involving hosts Namibia and Zimbabwe. The same travelling group will stay back after the conclusion of the triangular series to play a three-match ODI series against Namibia. Slow left-arm orthodox bowler Bjorn Fortuin has been named as the captain for the tour.

Designated captains Aiden Markram (T20I) and Temba Bavuma (ODI), alongside Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj, Corbin Bosch, Marco Jansen, and Lungi Ngidi, have been rested ahead of South Africa's home season.

Brothers Jordan Hermann and Rubin Hermann, who play for Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Paarl Royals, respectively, have been added to the squad. Marco's twin brother, Duan Jansen, who was recently named the CSA One-Day Cup Player of the Year, has also been included. Wicketkeeper batter Connor Esterhuizen and pacer Nqobani Mokoena have earned maiden ODI call-ups.

"We saw glimpses of what Connor and Nqobani can offer during the T20I series against New Zealand earlier this year. It was unfortunate that Jordan picked up an injury in the opening match of that series, so we're looking forward to seeing him get another opportunity at this level," South Africa's head coach, Shukri Conrad, said. "This tour has also opened the door for players who have performed domestically. Duan is one of those players. He is a quality all-rounder who has also shown great character for the Titans."

The tour is a golden opportunity for Fortuin to breathe life into his dormant international career. His last appearance for South Africa came against Pakistan in an ODI in Faisalabad on November 8, 2025.

Fortuin, 31, has played 16 ODIs, claiming 18 wickets at an economy rate of 4.83 and averaging 33.94. He has 23 wickets in 27 T20Is at an average of 28.26 and an economy rate of 8.12.

"Bjorn is an experienced player and proven leader who has successfully captained the Lions, and we have every confidence in his ability to lead this group," Conrad said.
