Sri Lanka A edged past India A in a nerve-racking Super Over in the ongoing Sri Lanka A Team Tri Series, climbing to the top of the points table. Sri Lanka A needed just five to win off the last over in regulation time and had three wickets in hand, but left-arm seamer Arshad Khan bowled exceptionally well to push it into a Super Over.
Arshad dismissed the set batter Sadeera Samarawickrama on 93 on the second ball and just gave four runs off the last four balls.

After the scores were tied in real time, the India captain Tilak Varma was seen having a brief chat with the two on-field umpires, and the contest was then pushed into a Super Over to decide the winner.
Sri Lanka A captain Sahan Arachchige and Avishka Fernando came out to bat for Sri Lanka A in the Super Over, and India A handed the responsibility to Arshad.
The left-arm seamer began well, conceding just eight runs in the first four balls, but got hit for a six and bowled a no ball before the two Sri Lankan batters manufactured a bye. Sri Lanka A set 17 for India A to win and entrusted their 19‑year‑old pacer Kugathas Mathulan to close out the game for them.
Mathulan didn't disappoint, giving away just nine runs and conceding a solitary boundary to help Sri Lanka A seal a phenomenal win.
Suryansh Shedge and Vipraj Nigam steady India A's ship after turbulent start
Earlier, after being asked to bat first, India A endured a shaky start, losing both openers with just 39 runs on the board in 6.2 overs. Teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi looked promising with a brisk 21 off 14 balls before Arachchige had him caught at point. From there, Tilak and vice‑captain Ruturaj Gaikwad steadied the innings, stitching together a 52‑run stand for the third wicket.
The partnership was broken in the 16th over when Mathulan dismissed Tilak. His wicket sparked a collapse that few anticipated, as India A crumbled from 91/2 to 143/7 in 32.1 overs. Leg‑spinner Vijaykanth Viyaskanth was the architect of the slide, returning superb figures of 3/26.
Just when India A looked in deep trouble, Suryansh Shedge and Vipraj Nigam mounted a remarkable rescue act. The pair added 104 runs for the eighth wicket, lifting their side to a respectable total. Shedge top‑scored with a fluent 72 off 66 balls, striking three fours and two sixes at a rate of 109.09.

Mohamed Shiraz, 31, also impressed with figures of 3/33 in 7.2 overs and accounted for Prabhsimran Singh, Shedge and Arshad.
Chasing 266, the hosts got off to a flyer, adding 56 runs in just five overs. Niroshan Dickwella and Fernando took the new-ball bowlers to task and dealt in boundaries. Fernando was cleaned up by Nishant Sindhu for 22 whereas Dickwella was nicked off by Nigam.
