Sri Lanka have made wholesale changes to their squad for the second Test against India. The selectors have picked the uncapped duo of Kamil Mishara and Sahan Arachchige for the decider to be played at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) in Colombo.
Dinesh Chandimal is not a part of the side, having suffered a concussion during the first Test of the series while saving a boundary at the deep square leg fence. Left-arm seamer Dilshan Madushanka, bowling allrounder Ramesh Mendis and Nishan Madushka have been left out of the 14-member squad.
Mishara's selection comes on the back of a phenomenal run in the Lanka Premier League (LPL). The southpaw aggregated 411 runs in nine innings at an average of 51.37 and a strike rate of 165.06, including a ton and a fifty. He has amassed 3521 runs in 49 first-class matches, averaging 46.94, laced with nine centuries and 15 fifties. He scored a brilliant century (174) for Sri Lanka A, guiding them to an innings victory against New Zealand A in his last red-ball appearance in April.
Sri Lanka are sixth on the WTC points table with a points percentage of 33.33, with a solitary win, two losses and as many draws.
