Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) have retired jersey No. 47 in honour of their charismatic allrounder Dwayne Bravo. Bravo is the first-ever player to have his jersey retired in the Caribbean Premier League. The 42-year-old won four CPL titles during his playing career with TKR in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2020, before claiming his maiden silverware as head coach last season (2025).
He also led St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to a title finish in the 2021 season when they beat St Lucia Kings by three wickets in the summit clash.
“Dwayne Bravo’s contribution to the Knight Riders and to the CPL is impossible to measure,” Venky Mysore, CEO of the Knight Riders group, said at a felicitation ceremony before the start of Knight Riders’ CPL 2026 game against Jamaica Kingsmen in Port of Spain on Saturday. “Retiring No. 47 is our way of ensuring that his legacy will forever be a part of this franchise. There could be no more fitting player to become the first in CPL history to receive this honour.”
Bravo amassed 1155 runs in 107 CPL games, combining stints with St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and TKR. He averaged 21.00 and scored at a strike rate of 129.33, including two fifties. He was more impactful with the ball in hand, claiming 129 scalps at an average of 23.02 and an economy rate of 8.74.

The bowling allrounder is the third-highest wicket-taker in CPL history behind Sunil Narine (139 wickets) and Imran Tahir (135).
“Thank you for being an inspiration and a role model,” Nicholas Pooran, the incumbent TKR captain, said in a video released by the franchise. “We’re really happy to have you in our corner. Thank you for being a bigger brother. Thank you for being a father figure at times for us. But most importantly, thanks for being that inspiration in my life.”
“I think you have paved the way for a lot of young cricketers. The way you care about yourself, your energy levels, and always wanting to win in everything,” said Narine.
“Thank you for all that you have done obviously for me personally as an individual, and then you know we’re coming together as a force to be reckoned with, something that you always spoke about being able to win championships and games and create an environment where people will enjoy,” said Kieron Pollard.
