UAE qualify for ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup 2027

United Arab Emirates have qualified for the ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup 2027 after securing a thrilling one-run win over hosts Malaysia in the ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup 2027 Asia Qualifier on July 29 at the Bayuemas Cricket Oval. UAE have clinched the sole qualification spot, emerging on top of seven other teams.
The final was a low-scoring thriller. UAE posted 95 in 19.3 overs, with vital contributions from Al Maseera Jahangir (31 off 34 balls), Mehul Kulkarni (22 off 24 balls) and an 18-ball 19 by wicketkeeper batter Uttara Iyer. Running between the wickets turned out to be a major cause of concern for UAE as four of their players were run out.
Nur Qalysha (2/21) and Irdina Beh Nabil (2/20) were the pick of all the Malaysia bowlers.
In reply, Malaysia were in the hunt until the last ball of the game but suffered a heartrending loss. Nurin Imanina top-scored with a 40-ball 36, including two boundaries. Maseera Jahangir also chipped in with the ball for UAE, returning figures of 2/12 in her four overs. She was adjudged the Player of the Match (POTM).

Malaysia finished with 94 on the board for the loss of six wickets. They played way too many dot balls and were behind the asking rate from the outset.
Notably, UAE enjoyed an unbeaten run during the tournament. They began their campaign with a 37-run (DLS) win over Hong Kong before beating Malaysia by 39 runs (DLS) in their second fixture.
They then thumped Qatar by 81 runs before outclassing Bhutan by 73 runs ahead of the summit clash.
This will be UAE's second appearance at the ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup. They had also qualified for the inaugural edition in South Africa in January 2023, finishing in the Super Six stage. They had missed out on qualification in the previous edition (2025), which was held in Malaysia.
