UAE are through to the semifinals of the ACC Men’s Premier Cup 2026 after a 49‑run win over Oman in a Group B fixture at the YSD‑UKM Cricket Oval in Bangi on September 8. Oman captain Vinayak Shukla opted to field first, but the decision did not yield early rewards.
UAE openers Tanish Suri (48 off 53) and Adeeb Usmani (40 off 65) put on a 92‑run stand, giving their side a solid foundation. Suri struck six fours and two sixes at a strike rate of 90.56, while Usmani hit two fours and two sixes.
Nadeem Khan broke the partnership by dismissing Suri in the 19th over, triggering a collapse that stalled UAE’s progress. They slipped from 92/1 in 18.4 overs to 105/5 in 26 overs. Aayan Afzal Khan and Akshdeep Nath then added 67 for the sixth wicket to stabilise the innings. Both Akshdeep (33) and Aayan (37) fell within a delivery of each other, preventing them from pushing on to bigger scores.
UAE were eventually bowled out for 192 in 48.1 overs. Jay Odedra (3/17), Hassnain Shah (3/48) and Shakeel Ahmed (2/29) were the leading wicket‑takers for Oman.
In response, Oman’s batters struggled from the outset and failed to cope with the sustained pressure applied by the UAE attack. Jiten Ramanandi (51 off 70) fought a lone battle, striking six fours and a six at a strike rate of 72.85.
Aayan Afzal Khan was outstanding with the ball, claiming a five‑wicket haul and finishing with figures of 5/34 at an economy of 3.84. Khuzaima Tanveer (3/21) delivered an excellent supporting spell as Oman were bowled out inside 34.5 overs. Aayan was declared the Player of the Match (POTM).
