USA's Akhilesh Reddy banned for eight years under ICC anti-corruption code

USA off-spinner B Akhilesh Reddy has been banned from all forms of cricket for eight years by the ICC (International Cricket Council), following his involvement in fixing during the 2025 edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Reddy was found guilty by an ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal of breaching three counts of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. The 26-year-old played two matches for Aspin Stallions during the Abu Dhabi T10 2025, scalping one wicket.

The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) had appointed the ICC to oversee the tournament as the Designated Anti-Corruption Official (DACO).

In November, 2025, Reddy was provisionally suspended and charged under the following sections of the anti-corruption code:

Article 2.1.1 - Attempting to fix, contrive, or improperly influence, or being party to an agreement or effort to improperly influence, the result, progress, conduct, or any other aspect of matches in the ADT10 2025.

Article 2.1.4 - Soliciting, inducing, enticing, instructing, persuading, encouraging, or intentionally facilitating (or attempting to do so) another Participant to breach Article 2.1.1 during one or more matches in the ADT10 2025.

Article 2.4.7 - Obstructing the investigation by deleting data and messages from a mobile device that may have been relevant to the inquiry.

Akhilesh Reddy's international career

The ICC's Anti-Corruption Tribunal has found Reddy guilty on all three charges and imposed a ban that has been backdated to November 21, 2025, the date on which his provisional suspension began.

Akhilesh represented the USA in four T20Is, claiming one wicket during his brief international career. He made his debut against the Cayman Islands in the North America T20 Cup.
