India’s teen batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi put his stupendous six-hitting on display on his international debut in the second T20I against England at Old Trafford, Manchester. Sooryavanshi had a brief stay at the crease as he scored 14 (10) but ensured that the world took notice of his talent by smashing two gigantic sixes in his innings.

Making his debut at the age of 15 years and 99 days old, Sooryavanshi surpassed legendary India batter Sachin Tendulkar, who made his debut at the age of 16 years and 205 days against Pakistan in November 1989, to become India's youngest-ever debutant in international cricket.

He had an uncharacteristic start to his innings as the southpaw failed to time the ball on his first two deliveries and got off the mark with a single on his third ball. Sooryavanshi hit his first six of the innings, smashing Jofra Archer over fine leg through a wild shot.

He again tried to pull him into the stands on the very next ball but was beaten by pace and got off the strike with a single on the third delivery. In the following over, he launched Josh Tongue over deep midwicket for his second six of the innings.

Sooryavanshi was eventually dismissed on 14 (10) as he tried to smash Will Jacks over deep extra cover while stepping out of the crease. However, he ended up missing the ball, and Jos Buttler dislodged the bails to catch him short of his crease to get him stumped.

Bethell guides England to four-wicket win

As a result, Sooryavanshi’s much-awaited first outing in international cricket ended cheaply, but he ensured to announce his arrival in style by whacking two massive sixes. Later in the second innings, Sooryavanshi also took his first catch in international cricket as he caught Sam Curran at deep square leg in the 18th over of the innings.

Meanwhile, India lost the match by four wickets as Jacob Bethell (76 off 46) played a magnificent innings to help England chase down the target of 191 in 19 overs. Bethell was deservedly adjudged Player of the Match for helping England take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series after the first T20I got washed out.
