Dhruv Shorey of Vidarbha has equalled Narayan Jagadeesan's record for registering the most consecutive hundreds (five) in List A cricket. Shorey matched the feat during an ongoing Vidarbha vs Hyderabad fixture in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 at the Sanosara Cricket Ground 'B' in Rajkot on December 26.

The right-handed batter scored 109 off 77 balls, laced with nine fours and six maximums at a strike rate of 141.56 and remained unbeaten after coming into bat at number three.

Shorey's string of five consecutive hundreds began in the knockout rounds of the previous iteration of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He scored a match-winning hundred (118* off 131 balls) while chasing 292 against Rajasthan in the second quarterfinal. The 33-year-old backed it up with a 120-ball 114 in the second semifinal to guide his side into the summit clash with a 69-run win over Maharashtra.

He produced another brilliant ton (110 off 11 balls) in the final showdown against Karnataka, albeit in a losing cause as Vidarbha fell short by 36 runs, chasing 349.

He picked up from where he had left off in the previous season and racked up a century in Vidarbha's campaign opener against Bengal. Shorey scored 136 off 125 deliveries, including 18 fours at a strike rate of 108.80 to power his team to a majestic total (382/5).

However, it didn't prove to be enough as Bengal scaled the peak with seven balls and three wickets to spare. Vidarbha's next game will be against Jammu & Kashmir on Monday, December 29.

His 277 against Arunachal is the highest ever individual score registered in List A cricket.
