Shamar Joseph and Alzarri Joseph have returned to the West Indies Test setup as the team gears up for a two‑match series against Sri Lanka, starting June 25 in North Sound, Antigua. Both quicks had missed the last two Test series away in India and New Zealand due to injuries, and their comeback bolsters the pace attack.
The squad also sees the return of left‑handed batter Amir Jangoo and wicketkeeper‑batter Joshua Da Silva. Jangoo has featured in just one Test for the Windies, against Pakistan in Multan in January last year, where he scored 30 runs. Da Silva, meanwhile, last played in the Bangladesh series in late 2024. With 33 Tests under his belt and over 1200 runs at an average of 24.76, including a century and five fifties, he has earned his recall after a prolific run in domestic cricket.

Da Silva amassed 996 runs across the last two seasons of the West Indies Championship, finishing as the leading run‑scorer this year with 413 runs in seven innings for Trinidad & Tobago at an average of 59.00, including a century and two fifties. Jangoo, also representing T&T, was the second‑highest run‑getter with 411 runs at an average of 68.50, highlighted by a century and a fifty.
Head coach Daren Sammy stressed the importance of bringing their best cricket to overcome Sri Lanka’s challenge.
"Every Test series is an opportunity for us to grow as a team and strengthen our identity," Sammy said in a statement released by Cricket West Indies. "Sri Lanka are a quality side, so we know we'll have to be at our best, but we're excited about the challenge ahead.
"For us, it's about playing with discipline, showing character when the game gets tough, and representing the West Indies with pride. The players have been putting in the work, and we're looking forward to putting on a strong display for our fans across the Caribbean."
