Scotland batter Ailsa Lister has been reprimanded for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during her team’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group B fixture against the West Indies.
She was found to have breached Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during an International Match.”

One demerit point has also been added to Lister’s disciplinary record, for whom it was the first offence in a 24-month period. Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand, a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player’s match fee, and one or two demerit points.
The incident occurred in the 19th over of Scotland’s innings when, after being dismissed, Lister threw her bat and gloves on the ground as she left the field and then kicked and knocked over a bin next to the team dugout.
She was dismissed for 33 (25), being cleaned up by Aaliyah Alleyne in the penultimate over of the second innings. Lister admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by GS Lakshmi of ICC International Panel of Match Referees, so there was no need for a formal hearing.
Scotland lost the match by seven runs
On-field umpires Claire Polosak and Kerrin Klaaste, third umpire N. Janani, and fourth umpire Nimali Perera levelled the charge on the Scotland batter.
Coming back to the match, Scotland were bundled out for 146 in their allotted 20 overs as they fell short of the 154-run target, losing the match by seven runs. After Scotland were reduced to 74/5 in 10.4 overs, Darcey Carter (59 off 62) and Alisa Lister (33 off 25) kept their team in the hunt with a good partnership of 58 (45).
However, a triple-wicket penultimate over by Aaliyah Alleyne completely shifted the balance in West Indies’ favour, who registered their second successive win of the tournament.
